Description
Flow Glass H1 is a suspension lamp designed by Dante Donegani and Giovanni Lauda for Rotaliana.
Flow is the reinterpretation o fan archetypal lamp, the diffused light globe, but made with new materials and offering new solutions.
The aim, also suggested in the lamp’s name, is to dematerialize the traditional lampshade, namely the container, to free the light caught inside it and restore its immaterial nature of pure energy, dynamism and beauty. Already in some famous modern lamps, the luminous globe had been broken down into glass discs ref lective metal lamellae.In Flow, instead, the shade consists of a single volume, molded in plastic material but visually broken down by the geometry of the concentric rings that intercept and propagate the light, creating an optical illusion. In fact, the shape of the lampshade changes, according to the point of view, from ellipsoidal to spherical. Through this simple illusion, the luminous outline is hazy and indistinct; the lamp loses its contours and seems to dissolve in a f low of energy, into an electric vibration.
